Why is there TFE and Kynar- PVDF extended delivery times

During the last year, the business has experienced more challenges than I have come across within my 30 years experience. In the past I have seen sharp price increases, and I have observed several shortages, and delivery issues due to material allocations by plastic resin companies. This is the very first time I have seen all these issues at the same time.

Polytetraflouroethylene (TFE) and Kynar - PVDF are both on allocation.

This pair of resins are in short supply. The  PTFE Sheeting product PTFE (TFE) and PVDF  manufacturing requires a mineral called Fluorspar which is mined in Mongolia and China. The worldwide need for this mineral has risen significantly, additionally, the supply has tightened. PTFE materials have high temperature resistance, excellent chemical resistance and really low co-efficient of friction (slick) and is utilized throughout a good deal of purposes from non-stick fry kitchenware to ptfe tape for personal use.
